Code of Ethics for Business in Kenya
- The Code of Ethics for Business in Kenya was endorsed in 2012 as a complementary tool to existing legal and regulatory frameworks. It is an initiative of the Kenyan business community to promote and strengthen ethical business conduct in line with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact on Human Rights, Labour, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.
- The Code applies to private companies that commit to upholding these principles and expect the same standards from their business partners. It does not replace individual company codes of ethics, but rather complements and reinforces them.
- This initiative is led by Global Compact Network Kenya, the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance.
- By signing up to the Code, organizations also consent to receive communications related, directly or indirectly, to the Code of Ethics, including updates, learning opportunities, and engagement activities connected to its implementation.
